    Is there anywhere where I can download an updated version of mk4tcl which will run with Tcl 8.6 on my Ubuntu 21 Linux machine?

    Well, as Jean-Claude has left the community, there is no official
    maintainer.

    I would look to the tcl wiki:

    https://wiki.tcl-lang.org/page/Metakit

    So, [pooryorick] has made some additional changes in 2018.

    One way would be to grab the recent files from: https://github.com/pooryorick/metakit/
    an to compile them yourself.
    It might happen, that you need something like tcl-devel package.

    I am using it each day on Windows StarKits with 8.6, so it should work.
