    Why does Ctrl+i produce tabs in text widgets?

    It's a default. I didn't add that binding.

    Seems like a bad idea to me.

    Ctrl-I *is* the tab character the same way Ctrl-M is the carriage return character.

    Oh.

    I knew about Ctrl-m, but for some reason never knew about Ctrl-i.

    I have found the way to block it.
