entry widget delay in presenting contents of -textvariable when using V

MS VoiceType in invoked with a WinKey + h combination. If prior to invocation, a text file is opened and given focus, speech is converted to text almost immediately and inserted into the client area, word by word. However, when using a entry widget, the
corresponding -textvariable is updated after speech is paused and all of the recognized words are written at once.
In addition to observing this difference, I have confirmed this by using a combination of -validate keys and -validatecommand to record characters as they are inserted. Also the same can be observed, simply, by using VoiceType with tkcon, or the tcl
console.
Question: Is this a quirk of VoiceType not interacting well with an non-MS .txt type doc or is there some characteristic of tk (event queue management?) the prevents the update of the -textvariable as words are recognized?
