Maybe I misinterpreted dxf's posting.

I notice c.l.c is bitterly complaining of mass spam. It's perhaps no
surprise NNTP services are finally boycotting the source. Unfortunately
the collateral damage is legit users.

I can report it. Not sure it does more than make it invisible for myself.

google has failed to act upon multiple complints by multiple NNTP
services over past 7 months, they have ignored and done nothing, trhe problem has in fact got much much worse, it's out of control
This UDP on googlegroups will be revised in 90 days, but since a large number of usenet admins have been strongly complaining to google for many many months, I don't see anything changing, google either thing they are
too big to block (big mistake), or simply don't care.
Hi,numerous services. It's probably very tedious, or even unwinnable, to constantly watch and try to stop everything.

Although Google makes questionable decisions sometimes (e.g. comp.lang.oberon has long been banned for no reason), I suspect this is due to high volume and not enough time or energy to constantly try to stop thousands of useless spammers across
comp.os.msdos.djgpp has also been under deluge these past few days.
To do nothing would guarantee the end of Usenet.

if c.l.f becomes another target, it will be dead soon.

Ok. I don't check mail much anymore, and found this. Just reported 60. Google filters all spam on email, even the stuff you sign up for sometimes, So they can easily filter it.
What you will find od some junior/s are in charge, or some other overwhelmed Group. I've complained about the reply button not being visible in mobile mode
for years, and a few other common sense practical ideas before.
Nothing! That's a sign. After they bought the service. It struggled, then stagnated.
What really needs to be done is senior management and shareholders of the group
be asked to fix it. As a massive.. Then maybe everything will get fixed and Upgraded. You don't ask don't care, or can't do people.
They could be making a packet out of this, but even YouTube looks good compared to this.
I would put banner ads relative to the group or thread at the top of each screen.
Very simple, no days mining needed past knowing what they are publicly reading.
