• OT: Ask Big-8 to block Google Spam

From Wanderer@21:1/5 to All on Sat Nov 4 10:41:57 2023
The spam is out of hand.
Contact the Usenet Big-8 management and ask them to block
google-groups from posting to the Big-8 Usenet hierarchies.
It is the only way to get Google to do anything.
We need the Big-8 to act as an advocate for its usenet users.

The big-8 manage the hierarchies, not the posting of messages to
them. They don't have a way to regulate what gets posted to the
groups, that's left to server admins, or clients themselves.

Just use a server that filters out spam.

    Unfortunately, that's not their job.

kill file post originating from googlegroups.
Alternately, make all posters with a gmail address as "read".
You're going to get some false positives, but ...
