    Many thanks but I am confussed. I see that in hbppcore.c you changed 'hb_comp_bQuiet' to 'hb_comp_bQuiet2' but there is no other
    'hb_comp_bQuiet' in hbppcore.c - so what is the purposse for such
    renaming?

    The other 'hb_comp_bQuiet' is in hbcomp.h, that is included in hbppcore.c:

    extern BOOL hb_comp_bQuiet;
