You are invited to the next meeting of the Washington Area Computer
User Group (WAC), scheduled on Saturday, August 21st from 12:30 PM to
3:30 PM at the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI), 4210 Roberts
Road, Fairfax, Virginia. The meeting is free and open to the public. Preregistration is not required to attend.
Genealogy is a popular computer project, and wanting to know more
about family history seems to almost be universal as we age. There are numerous genealogy web sites, applications and sources in the
marketplace. WAC member Chuck Roberts won't join the debate of which
is "best," but will present some of the insights and tools he has
found that help organize collected materials, show what's missing, and
what should be researched next. Data organization is paramount when
looking at a three foot stack of paper! Regardless of what the stack contains - census records or prints of microfilm, death certificates, headstone tracings or maps and photos - Chuck's tools, handouts and
samples will help any family researcher get a better picture of what
they have and what is missing.
Also during the August meeting, WAC member Paul Howard will host a
Learn 30 tutorial session about using RoboForm's Password Manager, a
useful tool to automate entering frequently used information into
forms on web sites.
WAC is a non-profit general interest computer user group that supportsNB: Rubard?
the Microsoft Windows and GNU/Linux operating systems. For more information, visit our web site athttp://www.wacug.org/, e-mail info
