• Enhancement Request for Zemu (Joe Moore's excellent Z80 emulator)

If anyone knows how to contact Joe Moore , then I'd like to pass on this enhancement request for zemu (1.0.44):

For complex setups it would be nice to have a method for setup of all parameters from a text config file, and with save and restore.

This would make it easier for setups such as for Cromemco Cromix.

I tried using AutoIT keyboard scripting language on zemu 1.0.44 but failed on the device setting screen where the array of tick boxes cannot be set to a known value. One can tab through the sequence of boxes and use space to toggle value, but there seems
to be no value to specifically set a tick box, or to clear one, which renders the method useless if you don't know the current state. I was trying to use keyboard only, no mouse, to ensure that AutoIT was not dependent on screen resolution or video
driver. With AutoIT one can record as one makes settings, or one can just create a script file in an editor. I tend to record, then edit to tune as I am a novice/rusty user. I used it more seriously about 10 years ago at work. I am now retired.

With AutoIT it is better when applications have keyboard shortcuts for each aspect of the user interface (Zemu does not).

I like zemu, very powerful; Thanks Joe, and I wish you have a twin brother maintaining a linux version :)

Try the z80pack Cromemco emulation, also runs on Linux and uses text configuration
files only. Also runs Cromix of course with multiple terminals:
