BBBs and Linux

The BeagelBone Blacks CAN run a species of Linux.
Bought a BBB a few years ago - plus multi-relay board -
thinking about "home automation". Never got there.
Relays DO still have certain advantages ... don't
last forever but are MUCH more resistant to surges
and shorts and cosmic influences. Tough old tech.
In any case ... anyone here have experience at
installing Linux into a BBB ???
BBBs are maybe a small step behind PIs - but they
ARE made for more "real world" stuff. Slightly
different angle.
