• VPN not reconnecting after suspend

From Laurens Kils-Huetten@21:1/5 to All on Mon Jun 19 18:38:13 2023
    Hi all,

I'm having the following problem on my linux
laptop: I use NM to connect to the wifi and the
strongswan plugin to connect to a VPN. However after a
suspend, while the wifi does reconnect, the VPN does not.
I've noticed this problem on Arch Linux as well as on a
    fresh Debian 12 install.

Also, most of the time reconnecting the VPN fails,
reporting about missing VPN secrets. Only after I kill
    charon-nm will the VPN reconnect.

Any ideas what to look into?

    Chees,

Did you enable in the settings of the WiFi connection that the VPN
    tunnel will be established?

No, I just set the VPN connection to autoconnect. Amazing, never thought
about having to change a setting for the wifi connection. But hey, apparently it works!

Thank you so much, hope it holds up in the field ;-)
