A woman is on trial accused of raping a transgender man as he slept, with
a jury being told of the chilling text the victim sent to a friend
following the alleged offence.
A transgender man allegedly raped by a woman as he slept claimed he woke
up to the woman “doing s**t” to him to the point he was “bleeding”, a jury
has been told.
Natalia Marjorie Hanson is on trial in Brisbane District Court charged
with the rape of the man in June 2020.
She has pleaded not guilty to a single count of rape.
In texts to a friend, he recounted Ms Hanson’s alleged act on the same
morning.
The text, read to the jury on Monday, said: “I have a mate over and I’m on drugs. I passed out, woke up, and she was doing s**t to me. I just went
along because I didn’t know what to say.”
It continued: “Anyway, she’s gone rough. Like it was hurting to the point
I’ve actually started bleeding. The first time that happened was when I
was abused.”

The trial is set to continue on Tuesday morning, following evidence being
given in a closed courtroom for the afternoon.
On Monday, the jury was told Ms Hanson and the man knew each other around
the time of the offending.
The male victim had started his process of transitioning from female to
male.
At the time of the alleged offending still he still had female genitalia,
the court heard.
Crown prosecutor Victoria Adams said Ms Hanson and the man sent messages
over Snapchat on June 29, 2020 and Ms Hanson later attended his home.
The man allegedly told her he had been smoking ice for two days straight
and “had not slept”.

“The defendant encouraged (the man) to go to sleep. He fell asleep on a mattress on the floor,” Ms Adams said.
Ms Adams said the man woke later woke up feeling “vaginal pain” –
allegedly finding Ms Hanson digitally raping him.
Ms Adams said the issue of consent was a key issue for the jury to decide
in their trial.
“It is you who must determine whether the evidence the witnesses give is credible and reliable,” she told the jury.
The trial continues.
