So, Microsoft has gained one more defector from the Linux world.
Yay Microsoft. Baby steps, baby steps ...
MS has ruled the desktop OS and office software markets for 34 years
straight, with total and complete dominance.
And helped generate over
$2 trillion in lifetime revenue for the mighty MS Corporation.
Linux Mint got $9.6 thousand in donations March 2024.

Microsoft _requires_ payment so money must exit your bank account for
the honour of using their software. In Mint's case, no such exchange is necessary so the money it received was given voluntarily by users of the software. In other words, Microsoft demands money for its product
regardless of how you might later feel about it whereas Mint suggests
that you give it money if you are satisfied with the product you've
already received. Admittedly, they barely even make such a suggestion
since they are happy to offer you the product at no charge. The people
who therefore gave money to Linux Mint are people who insisted that they should have it despite the fact that Clément Lefebvre didn't even ask
for it.
Say DFS, look at the sig, and "reinvent yourself".
