    Of course, it’s not their hardware that “sucks”, it’s the bloated Windows OS that the poor vict^H^H^H^Husers are trying to run on it.

    I had to shake my head today -- bought a 1U server from SuperMicro,
    and the only OS options it offered pre-installed were either
    Windows -- or nothing.

    I picked "nothing" of course, because it's going to run Ubuntu Linux.

    At least you had the option of a blank HD with no payment of a Windows
    license. That's not always an option, of course.

    We had one trolling fsckwit defend such monopolistic behavior, arguing
    that providing the option of a blank HD would be prohibitively
    expensive for OEM's to offer. I couldn't make this stuff up.
