• Monitor _doesn't_ turn off when playing DRM content in Linux

From CrudeSausage@21:1/5 to All on Sat Apr 12 09:36:25 2025
For those who read my rant about how an external monitor in Windows will
shut on and off repeatedly when opening an application or web site where
DRM content is handled, I can confirm that no such thing happens in
Linux. At least, it doesn't with Brave in Ubuntu 24.10. Netflix works
without issue, as does Apple Music. It appears that such hatred for the
paying customer is limited to Windows.

This is why you buy DVDs and immediately rip them. This is why you buy
CDs and immediately rip the music.

Good to hear. I'm guessing this doesn't include stuff on Microsoft's
website (which probably doesn't play in Linux).

I wouldn't know. Even when using Windows, there is little reason to
    venture onto Microsoft's own sites.
