Listen up lackeys. Here's how the pros do it.
A new version of Gnuplot has been released:
<
https://gnuplot.sourceforge.net/>
Being a mathematician, I, of course, must update. I have
scripts that can download and compile Gnuplot in mere minutes
and thus it is no big deal.
But Gnuplot depends on libcerf which also has a new version:
<
https://jugit.fz-juelich.de/mlz/libcerf>
I already have libcerf installed and so I just built
gnuplot with my script.
[~]# ldd /usr/local/bin/gnuplot
...
libcerf.so.2 => /usr/local/lib64/libcerf.so.2
But oops! The new version of libcerf is 3.0 and it will be
incompatible with gnuplot.
Thus, I had to both, using my inimitable scripts, which involved
only a few small minutes of time.
[~]# ldd /usr/local/bin/gnuplot
...
libcerf.so.3 => /usr/local/lib64/libcerf.so.3
Now all things are good.
Ain't GNU/Linux a grand adventure?
Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha!
But all a lackey can do is suck at his distro's teat.
Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha!
Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha!
