A survey of developers worldwide, asking questions like what
development platform and language they used, as well as other topics
like their choice of mobile OS, produced some slightly bemusing
results <
https://www.infoworld.com/article/4021972/javascript-macos-lead-usage-in-worldwide-developer-survey.html>.
The number one platform choice was the Apple Macintosh, for some
reason. And yet their most popular mobile OS was Android, not Apple.
Given the huge popularity of Iphones and rather less usage of Macs,
this does seem a bit backward.
Given that other surveys show Python as the most popular programming
language, I think the predominance of JavaScript/TypeScript, CSS and
HTML indicates there is a strong bias here towards web-centric
developers.
But that still makes you wonder: why would they like Macs so much, but Appleās phones not so much?
