    Hello,

    I am Johnny Root, and I practice the art of backups on backups.

    Today I happened to stumble upon some old email backups from 2001
    and I thought that I would share (it is very appropriate).

    It seems that I was having a problem with a certain video card
    and I sent an email to the technical support team. I never received
    the courtesy of a fucking reply.

    Here is the uncut, unedited email:

    ======================================================================

    "I recently purchased a Diamond Viper II Z200 video card (part no. VIPER2-Z200A) for use on my MCT motherboard (part no.
    MCT-P318-667B).

    "Using the Linux operating system, the video card performs without
    any problems.

    "However, using Microsoft Windows 98, after installing the video
    drivers from the CD-ROM according to the instructions, my
    computer will fail to start. That is, Windows 98 only partially
    loads. At a certain point, the video freezes and the machine
    must be reset.

    "(Everything else was done according to the written instructions.
    The jumper settings on the video card are set for 4x AGP).

    "Using Windows 98 safe mode, I managed to start the system using
    16-color mode. Any higher video mode, such as 256-color and
    above, will cause the system to freeze during startup. The
    Control Panel indicates that the proper video drivers are
    installed and being utilized by Windows 98.

    "I even modified the BIOS settings on the motherboard by loading
    all default (i.e. safe) values. The problem remained.

    "This only happens under Windows 98. With Linux, everything is
    fine."

    ====================================================================

    HOLY SH-I-I-I-I-I-I-T! That POS Micro$lop Windows has been inferior
    from the very beginning.

    And GNU/Linux has been showing its superiority from the very
    beginning.
