• Detecting Wifi

From mynameismisterbig@gmail.com@21:1/5 to All on Fri Feb 23 08:33:25 2018
I have a laptop which insists on connecting to Wifi as soon as I get in, whereupon the router it's connecting to can presumably get its MAC address. I would like to stop this, but I would also like to know that I've been successful, ie. that my MAC addr
is NOT being given out to anyone!
I have a Linux laptop as well, which has a Wifi adapter - my question is: how do I use *this* laptop to detect the "connecting to Wifi sequence" of the above? ie. exactly WHAT this thing is giving out?

    Thanks for your help.
