• Re: PS2200 hangs in loop in SOS startup screen

PS2200 ROS default userid and password . Does anyone know what the
defaults are for ROS. Security/securi does not seem to work. And not
sure how to change in the config file for ROS. Not sure if this is the
    place to post. Thanks

I don't have PS2200 installed any more (the machine broke) but I'd
expect it to be securi/securi. Is it not documented?

Nope. securi/securi does not work. Already tried that. I can change the sys1.cfg file though and can enter a user/password in that file, but
this appears to only work for SOS. It is documented as security/securi,
but as I said, this does not work for ROS. Thanks

I am posting this for a friend who doesn't like to post. I have no
personal knowledge of the subject and have not tried the proposed solution.

"security/securi" is the default ROS signon but the password will
eventually expire and a new password will be requested. The ROS
password is not kept in the configuration file. There is a procedure
for saving and restoring security information documented in the OS 2200 Operator Reference (SEC keyin). If security information was not saved
and the password has been forgotten, there is no way to recover except
to start over with the ROS virtual disk (sys1\vd_DR0.bin) that was
supplied with the Express release. If you still have the original ZIP
file this should be a relatively straightforward procedure. You might
be able to boot with the original ROS disk, save the security
information and restore it to the ROS disk you were using.

Good luck, and keep us informed of your progress.

Thanks Stephen. I had just tried something like that before I saw this
post. I had an old version but not the original zipped one, that I
tried using (DR0). I was able to boot that one, but it still does not
accept any of my old userids or passwords. It does not say invalid
userid or password when I try to sign on in DEMAND. Just "Enter your user-id/password and clearance level:". But I was wondering if I could
do a SEC keyin on the SOS (which does work in demand) and be able to use
that on the ROS system. I might try it. Well, at least I can get the
SOS to work in DEMAND, so that might be good enough for me for now.
    Thanks again.

OM gosh. I got it to work. I was looking at the SIMAN runstream on the
SOS and decided to start it on the ROS. It did run to completion. Then,
when I entered userid/password for any that were listed in the SIMAN
run, it just said invalid password. I did find one that works though.
If you want me to post it here, I suppose I could. Anyway, thanks for
    your help.
