• Problem with App Store

From Fokke Nauta@21:1/5 to All on Wed Oct 5 11:52:56 2022
    Hi all,

Hope this is the correct usenet group for my question. If not, please
redirect me to a better group.

The problem is: A friend of mine has lived in France for a long time. On
his iPhone all languages were set in French. After he came back to The Netherlands, all languages (iPhone, Whatsapp, App Store) have been set
to Dutch. Everything workd fine, except the App store. It's still in French. What can we do to make that in Dutch as well?

    Many thanks beforehand.

    Fokke Nauta

I don't know that usenet would be particularly appropriate for iPhone

    Hi David,

Wasn't aware of Apple II computers.
It was the only apple usenet group I thought I could use.
Thanks, I will try the other ones.

You will probably have to create a new Apple ID account with the Dutch
Apple website. The "App Store" is really a collection of country
specific app stores and the one you use is linked to that Apple ID.
Signing in with a new Apple ID for the new country would give you the
    corect App Store.

But you could then have problems. You might not be able to update some
existing apps, some function like iCloud syncing would need to be
re-done, etc. It is possible to have different Apple IDs in different
country App Stores (many people do that to get around country
restrictions of where some apps are available), but it's a bit of a
hassle remembering which one goes where and having to keep logging-out
    and logging-in.

Sure, but why would anyone post to Usenet, when he could instead post to Apple's official support forums, where there are dozens of knowledgeable people, including Apple's own support staff, willing to answer questions and solve problems?
