  • HP7220A plotter info wanted

    Because I like responding to 19 yr old queries... :-)

    I am looking for information on an HP7220A four-color vector plotter.

    The 7220 has 8 pen bays located across the front edge of the plotter which may be loaded with any colors the operator wishes.

    First, does the plotting surface have an electrostatic paper hold?

    Yes.

    Second, can one print text acceptably using one of the Windows_3.1
    plotter drivers and sending it to the HP7220A?

    I don't know. I used Autocad 14 which can write hpgl.

    This plotter should have a RS-232-C serial connection on the rear panel interface (NOT an HP-IB).
