From Joe@21:1/5 to All on Sun Jan 7 12:08:36 2024
Hi everyone, I have a Thinkpad T460S, I formatted Zorin (Ubuntu) and
installed Windows 10. But the ububtu entry remained in the bios... is it possible to remove it? Thanks.

You have an UEFI, the successor of the BIOS.
In UEFI, Boot entries exist for operating systems.
You can go to the UEFI settings (sometimes called setup or similar) and
    delete that entry.

You can also use a Linux distribution and use efibootmgr to delete it.

thanks, do you think it can be done in my Thinkpad T460s??? I think the
    bios isn't exactly recent.
If you want to use a Linux distribution, what do you recommend???
clearly I will have to boot from USB and run the Efibootmgr command to
delete it? sorry but I'm not very practical...

    UEFI, not BIOS.
The version doesn't matter, simply go to the setup and remove that boot entries. https://download.lenovo.com/bsco/index.html#/textsimulator/ThinkPad%20T460s%20(20F9,20FA)

In Setup, select startup with arrow keys, then Boot (hit enter to go
into the sub menu), then select the entry and hit "delete" on the
    keyboard.

If you want to use a Linux distribution, what do you recommend???

Use Ubuntu, this is the easiest way.

Rund efibootmgr from it and post the results here.

dear Marco...I saw but in the BOOT section what I do with F12... I would
like to eliminate the writing Ubuntu.. but it doesn't let me move the
    arrows...
Then this is my first page of the Bios and then the page of the Startup section... forgive me but I can't delete anything... where should I act
in the Startup section (which seems to be all right)??
or in the Boot section in F12???
thanks unfortunately I'm not very practical...

What happens if you press the arrow keys on your keyboard?

You have to act in the setup.

If all that fails you can still do it with efibootmgr.

Wow...My mistake, I didn't press the TAB key... in the F12 menu. this is
the screen... if I press Menu it takes me to the normal Bios... I
haven't tried others... where to act from here or from the normal F1
    Bios??? Thank you

if possible I would prefer to act as Boot with Efibootmgr.. I don't know

Go to the UEFI setup (you have UEFI, not BIOS) and there you need to
delete them, NOT in the Boot menu for actually booting from these
    devices.

Please got to the setup and take a photo.
