Actually, no, they don't. As you have enough functioning brain cells to
have an attention span measured in time units longer than a nanosecond
they don't want you anywhere near their games. You would just cause
eddies and turbulence in the flow of money into their bank accounts,
slowing by said nanoseconds the interest and ancillary incomes from
investments said flow generates. The inefficiencies could cost them
upwards of pennies each day even!

Well, one classic IP, anyway. Poor "Command & Conquer" is getting
another mobile version. And yes, it will be just as MTX infested as
    all the previous attempts.

    Dang, really?

But that's not really what I wanted to talk about.

So, I learned about C&C Legions yesterday. It's in the news because pre-registration is now underway. Whoop-de-doo, I can preregister for
a mobile game. That's not going to happen. Still, the "Command &
Conquer" franchise still has enough cachet for me to at least want to
see what the game is about. I dutifully click on the link just so I
can see what sort of game it is.

I did not find out what sort of game it is. Not from the official
    website.

What is it with websites -especially websites for games- that fail to
give you even the minimum amount of information about the product? All
the official site had were some non-indicative screenshots and a few
brief snippets of text ("command iconic units", "engage in real-time battles", "seize superweapons").

I mean, you guys WANT me to buy the game, right? You WANT me to
pre-register. You WANT me to buy the MTX. Give me a reason!

I wish I could say this was only a problem with mobile games, or only
with games from big-name publishers, but its increasingly common even
for Indies and free mods! Too often I have to dig through a website
-or, more often, visit some entirely different website- just to figure
out what the game is about.

Or I just turn around and decide to find a game that doesn't waste my
    time.

    <sigh>

Well, I still don't really know what sort of game "Command & Conquer: Legions" is going to be... but I don't really care. The little hints I
could find -and their previous history- make it clear they're not
offering anything I care about. But it's a shame that EA continues to mismanage their beloved IPs in every possible way.

Maybe they want to build hype by not revealing how bad it is? So people
    build hope and stuff?
