(That said... I was extremely disappointed with the remastered Crysis
games. The visual differences are not all that apparent, and if you
already own the original games it's really hard to justify the price

I had the graphic enhancement mod for Crysis 1. Wow, it was beautiful even though choppy sometimes.

I had the graphic enhancement mod for Crysis 1. Wow, it was beautiful even though choppy sometimes.

"Crysis" had really poor support for multi-core processors. It's one
of the main advantages of the Remastered version... or it would be,
except that modern CPUs and GPUs are so powerful nowadays that even
running the unoptimized single-threaded version on most modern PCs
still offers more than enough performance to run the game at smooth
    frame rates.

There's a reason the 'will it run Crysis' meme died out. Nowadays, the
answer is almost inevitably, 'yes, of course it will.'

We're so spoiled by how powerful our computing devices have become.
    ;-)

I think we don't realize because the software devs get lazy with so much processing power and stuff

Yeah, "Crysis 2" was such a significant change to the style of
gameplay. I hate to point a finger and scream 'consolitis!" but with
"Crysis 2" it was quite obvious that was what had happened; many of
the game's features had to be cut back to fit into the limited memory
space of the prevailing consoles, and the gameplay simplified so you
could control it from a gamepad.

It had its moments and at times it still felt like Crytek's earlier
games, but overall it was such a radical change that it was really
hard for me to judge "Crysis 2" on its own merits.

Remember Far Cry 1? That was a fun game!

The respawning was just awful. Maybe the dev. who put it in was the one
