I never got to play its multiplayer in the original game. Did anyone
play its original game's multiplayer? I won't be buying this game. No time.

Honestly, that video does nothing to sell me on the remaster. I mean,
I'll be buying regardless, but more out of love for the original. But
if I didn't already adore the 1999 game, this video would do nothing
to convince me to play the remaster. In fact, it would probably drive
me away. It looks incredibly janky and doesn't show off the awesome atmosphere that was central to the game's appeal.

And multiplayer? In "System Shock 2"? A game all about tense and
well-paced scares, about exploring a haunted space-ship vulnerable in
your solitude as last survivor* of the crew? Playing that game with a
posse absolutely destroys what made the game so unique and special in
    the first place.

I don't believe the original game even had multiplayer.

The storyline, and the atmosphere would not have supported it.

Someone in the comments said it was hard to get it running and it was
    unstable.

I call bullshit. I think you're right, and it would break any survival
    horror atmosphere.

That said, I've done that atmosphere solo a million times, and it would
be fun to give this a go. They just better do something about ammo and
spawn, or it's gonna be four marines with empty clips wrenching poor
    little monkeys to death galore.

Stable multiplayer? Yes please. I just pinged some of my online gaming
    groups on Discord.

I'm probably buying this to do a OSA run, since I never did that. I'm
thinking of specializing as a "psi buff n bash" rage monster. None of
this ranged cryokinesis crap. Every other playthrough I've done has been
heavy on ranged ordinance, especially anti-personnel rounds. Time to get
up close and personal with a laser saber.

This will be far more feasible with adequate support fire. Plus I can
scream into my mic until everyone's ears bleed (or they start shooting
    *me*; far more likely).

I played System Shock 2 with a friend a long time ago. It was a lot of
fun. By the time we did play the game, I had already been through it
many many times solo anyway. So nothing was destroyed or lost. He
chose military upgrades. I chose hacking upgrades which worked out
    well for us.

Exactly. I was not looking for the same exact experience when playing
System Shock 2 with a friend as I do when playing it solo. It was a
different experience. And it was just as much fun.
