RISCOSbits are pleased to announce the launch of three new endeavours in one.

First, RISCOSbits are launching a new, small-footprint Raspberry Pi 4
system, the FOURtress. Unusually for RISCOSbits, the FOURtress
utilises an off-the-shelf aluminium case that also acts as a heatsink
for the Raspberry Pi, which allows the processor to be overclocked to
2.1GHz as standard and still remains cool in use. In addition, using
the new Super Turbo Drive (STD) in a Dual Operational Storage
Environment (DOSE) with the machine, the disc access is a huge
improvement over standard SD card installations, especially on
disc-heavy apps. For once, it's good to have a DOSE of an STD.

The FOURtress also has power control built in, so the system can be
left plugged in and operated with a single button.

Whilst HATs cannot be fitted inside the case, the GPIO is exposed and
a simple HAT box is in development for external use of HATs.

Prices start at just £149 for a system with 2GB RAM, and an 80GB
    storage system.

Also new is the Delta Pi Lite, a cut down version of the popular
PiHard, with a slimmed down 38mm case made from artistic-looking glass
effect acrylic and walnut veneer. Whilst being a super slim case,
there's plenty of room inside for a standard HAT, Real Time Clock and
active cooling, although the passive cooling system that's supplied as standard, in combination with the layered ventilation system of the
case, is more than adequate to keep the system cool. Using a custom
daughter board, the Raspberry Pi 4's micro HDMI ports have been
converted to accept full HDMI cables. The other feature of the system
is that the hard drive has been replaced by a high speed USB Super
Turbo Drive system for enhanced disc access and performance.

If you're looking for something that won't look out of place in your
living room, next to your TV or on your desk, the Delta Pi Lite starts
at just £149 for 2GB RAM and an 80GB storage system.

The third part of the endeavour is a new website for the PiHard family
of computer systems. The new site, www.pihard.co.uk, is the
easy-to-use home for the PiHard 4 (see the review on the Icon Bar),
the Delta Pi Lite and the FOURtress machines, breaking tradition with
typical RISC OS websites by having both a modern design and allowing
one-click purchases of pre-configured machines. There is still an
option for obtaining a tailor-made quote for a bespoke, custom
machine, but for those RISC OS users who want to click-and-go, a
simple PayPal checkout system is in place for standard configurations.

For Archive subscribers, there's a discount in place on the PiHard 4
system, which RISCOSbits is pleased to extend to both the Delta Pi
Lite and FOURtress. To apply the code to a one-click order, simply
email us with the exclusive code from the latest edition, after you've
placed the order, and the discount will be refunded. Making everything
an even bigger bargain than it already is. But be quick, the offer is
only available on a limited number of machines! So pop along to
pihard.co.uk to check out and checkout the superfast new systems!
