If you have any interest in software development on RISC OS, then you'll
be pleased to read that the next occasional 'friendly fireside chat' for programmers, and anyone with a related interest or who is thinking about
trying their hand at coding, is set to take place on Saturday, 8th June.
These meetings take place on a semi-regular basis, online via the Zoom
video conferencing system, and provide a means for people to get together
and discuss programming issues that matter to them. For some they are an opportunity to ask questions about something they are trying to do or are struggling with, and for others they are a way to provide the help others
need.
In addition to the more general conversational side of things, sometimes participants may be among the first to see how-to videos and similar,
which may or may not yet be ready for publishing online, often on the RISC
OS Community YouTube channel at
https://www.youtube.com/ @RiscosCommunityOnGithub/videos and to hear about works in progress that
may be much further off.
The meeting will kick off at around 7:30pm, and the log-in credentials for
the meeting are unchanged from those held previously - so if you've joined
one before, you should have everything you need. Otherwise, they are
available from a couple of sources:
* You can contact Andrew McCarthy on Twitter at
https://twitter.com/
ArmBytes or Mastodon at
https://mastodon.online/@armbytes - or indeed from
your RISC OS computer using ChatCube.
* Or you can contact me here in the RISCOSitory bunker by sending an email reply to this post. Please note, though, that any emails sent to me on the
day of the meeting itself will not receive a reply until very close to the meeting's start time!
