• Developers' fireside chat - 30th November

    From Vince M Hudd@21:1/5 to All on Wed Nov 27 22:00:03 2024
People who develop for or on RISC OS, or who are interested in doing so,
have another chance to gather together around the fireplace for a friendly
    chat this Saturday, 30th November.

With a start time of 7:30pm, the meeting will be held online using the
Zoom video conferencing system, allowing those attending to benefit from
all the comforts of home, while talking to other like-minded folk all
around the country – possibly the world, depending who else joins the meeting.

If you wish to join, you don’t need to worry about whether or not your
coding credentials are good enough – the meeting is open to beginners and experts alike, and offer an opportunity for people with little or no
experience to quiz those who’ve been around the blocks (and poked data
    into them).

The meetings have no set agenda, and are instead steered by the topics
brought up by those in attendance. You can raise your programming problem,
show off your newly (or partly) written software , discuss the state of development, and so on.

The only real entry requirement is to be able to run the Zoom software – which is available for most mainstream platforms from https://zoom.us/ -
and be able to log-in to the meeting. For that, you’ll need the log-in credentials, which are unchanged from previous meetings, so if you’ve
joined before you should have them. If not, there are a number of ways to obtain them:

    * You can contact Andrew McCarthy on Twitter at https://twitter.com/
ArmBytes or Mastodon at https://mastodon.online/@armbytes – or even from
your RISC OS computer using ChatCube.

    * Or you can send an email to me here in the RISCOSitory bunker in reply
to this message. Please note, though, that any emails sent to me on the
day of the meeting itself will not receive a reply until very close to the meeting’s start time!
