As it’s January 2025 – the first month of the new year – you may have recently made some new year resolutions. Was one of them to start
developing software on (or for) RISC OS? If so, why not gather around the virtual fireplace for a chat on the subject?
The next ‘friendly fireside chat’ for RISC OS developers will take place
on Saturday, 18th January, kicking off at around 7:30pm.
Open to anyone at any level – beginner, or expert – the meeting will be held online using the Zoom video conferencing system:
http://zoom.us
There is no set agenda to the meetings; instead they are steered by the
topics brought up by those in attendance. They provide an opportunity to
ask for – or offer – help or advice solving a programming problem, to demonstrate what you’re working on, discuss the programming tools
available, and so on.
All you need in order to attend is an interest in the subject matter,
something on which the Zoom software runs (which includes most mainstream platforms), and the meeting credentials. These remain the same as for
previous meetings, so if you’ve joined before you should have them. If
not, there are a number of ways to obtain them:
* You can contact Andrew McCarthy on Twitter at
https://twitter.com/
ArmBytes or Mastodon at
https://mastodon.online/@armbytes – or even from
your RISC OS computer using ChatCube.
* Or you can send an email to me here in the RISCOSitory bunker in reply
to this message. Please note, though, that any emails sent to me on the
day of the meeting itself may not not receive a reply until very close to
the meeting’s start time!
