RISC OS Developments will be showing off its latest developments in
browser (Iris) and networking/wifi technology this weekend at the
eXperience event in the Netherlands. We'll also be showing and talking
about RISC OS Direct and offering free upgrades etc. Attendees will be
able to collect free copies of the latest Iris browser, and wifi, so bring along your USB sticks or SD cards!
New features on show will be enhanced PDF handling in the Iris browser,
now supporting local files, providing a way to view, search and copy/paste complex PDFs which fail in the usual RISC OS programs. This is all part of
the functionality offered by the more recent WebKit browser engine
introduced earlier this year.
I'll be demonstrating the new functionality during a presentation at the
event, and talking about our future plans. I'll also be showing RISC OS
Direct running on top of the latest Pi5 hardware as we explore the road to 64bit.
Whilst ROD will not be selling anything, donations are always appreciated,
as travel costs continue to skyrocket.
Switching hats, I'll have the usual boxes of R-Comp software, and RCI
computers including N.Ex.T and Pinebook Pro. You can come and check out
our NVMe drivers which managed to exceed RAMFS in Chris Hall's recent
speed testing - crazy stuff! We'll have a box of assorted hardware items,
plus another box of older games to sift through if you're interested.
We've also done a fresh batch of PhotoDesk CDs updated to the latest 3.24 version - with 80+ enhancements and the new manual, it's a CD with lots of goodies to explore. Better still, if you've upgraded to the the XAT
edition in the past, they're just 10 euro.
