Does anyone have a copy of Ray Favre's 'Starting Basic'?
If you have a copy, how about donating it to a worthy
cause? With the advances in BASIC since Ray wrote it, the
book must be woefully out of date by now and is of
restricted use to anyone wanting to learn how to program in
BASIC.
At the request of the copyright holder (Gavin Smith, the
editor of Archive magazine) I'm trying to recreate the
original as a sort of 'archeological' exercise. All Ray's
files and printing masters were lost after his death and
the purpose of this exercise is to have a complete (as far
as possible) record of his work.
As a package, there was a disc of program listings to go
with the book. I would very much appreciate a copy of these
if anyone has them.
If anyone *does* have a copy (or even knows someone who has
one) and is due to attend the show this coming Saturday, a
saving on postage could be made because I'll be there as
well. I'll either pay for it or make a donation to the
Charity Stall (or both).
Please get in touch if you can help. It doesn't matter if
there are a few scribbled notes on it as I can overcome
these either before or during the OCR process.
Thanks in advance,
John
