We finally got to get over the border and with minimal hassle. At the crossing I got a “parfait” and bon voyage from immigration after a quick passport and COVID paperwork check. Filling out all the forms on the web was easy except for picking out
the correct crossing point. That could be easier. I had no idea there were so many on the Quebec border!

We are in Canada for 5 days after a week in Cape Cod and Bar Harbor. I’ll never go back to Cape Cod again. What a waste of time that was. Nothing much to see and terrible traffic.

Just saw the announcement about Parallels 18. Microsoft and Parallels decided to play nice and allow the licensed W11 Arm on Mac M-series silicon. Big news for Parallels. I may have to take another look at the MacBook now that Windows on it is not an
issue. Probably ought to give it a few months for the kinks to get worked out.

OTOH the Alder Lake in the Dell XPS is getting rave reviews for battery life and performance.

My XPS experience has been very good but not perfect. Just a few day’s ago it locked with a BSD error. Except the screen was not blue.

The SE 2 and iPad 7 soldier on. The wife’s aging Moto phone is going to need a replacement soon. I about have her convinced to try out iPhone.

My very basic YouTube channel has taught me a few video tricks. Next I need to find time to further explore the software and up my game considerably. That will require new hardware too. My iPhone and Hero 5 are not up to the task.

Mercifully that’s all for now. Bonjour from Quebec!

Good to know; I've been debating driving up to Quebec City later this year. Might depend on if I need a quick flight for FFM's.

A week each in CC & BH, or one week split between the two? In any event, I can
understand the lack of interest in the Cape - it seems that it is the "Shore" for most
of New England and has the classical "one road in/out" congestions. Nevertheless,
a friend from upper state NY enjoys going there - think they spend more of their

    As if the color makes a big difference; my Dell ultralight tanked similarly a few months ago;
going to just take it to turn-in, as its 5+ years old and they gave me a 15" replacement.

I'm probably going to retire my 6s within the next twelve months or so; its had a long

to doing the backup & change-over.

Except for that BSD it's been a good laptop, The OLED HD screen is incredible, the keyboard and mouse also, build quality is equal to a Mac. It's a huge advance over my 5 year old HP. But so was the 16" MacBook I had for a few weeks until it totally
    bricked.

    That's definitely a rave review.

Yes it is, "The 2022 Dell XPS 15 delivers laptop perfection" and 5 stars out of 5.

Now, before you claim 20 hours of battery life for a Mac keep in mind this is a 15" model with port specs similar to the 16" Mac and an OLED screen.

I’d certainly consider going from 7 to 10 hours a good healthy improvement, but

Looks like at least for this product comparison, the worst performer was 11 hours.

Liarboy Baker. He is a despicable human being. We
have actual friends out there. The plan is Calgary
for the Stampede, then Vancouver and Vancouver
Island, south to Seattle and Portland to see some
friends, and home via a few national parks we have
missed. Sequoia is the main one.
    I'm "despicable", am I, Liarboy?

What is THE most "despicable" thing you claim I've
    done?

On so many occasions cherry picked information to make a
    point while ignoring contradictory data.

Before you say it, that makes me despicable. :) Reversed,
the last two words make a great movie title :)
You have a very low bar for "despicable", Liarboy...

...you're trying to turn it into a joke now...

...because you actually know you owe me an apology.

No I don't. You owe me an apology for the times you have
accused me of lying when there was no proof at all, Liarboy
    When was that, Liarboy?

What is known is that for "despicable" you basically equated it
    with making invalid arguments.

And you are sufficiently well educated to know what the word
    "despicable" means.

Alan, your misogynous Facebook meme on women by itself makes the
despicable category. Ever look at yourself in the mirror?
And yet that wasn't what you mentioned.

Now you're reaching to cover yourself.

No, I'm not. It's not even me that came up with the adjective. A few
months back I read your misogynous and demeaning quote to my wife.
Quote from her: "What a despicable human being!" Strange that said
you think it's humor. No wonder you have apparently never been
    married.
    Bullshit.

First: it wasn't what you first claimed.

Second: you read it to your wife?

Third: what ordinary person would pick "despicable" to describe
    something so innocuous.

You lie again. The wife said it first. Prove she didn't.

    Sorry, you prove she did.

What we know is that when you first used it HERE, you had a completely
    lame justification...

...which became what you felt was a better justification...

...which became your wife telling you that.

It was what you grasped for when what you had claimed was "despicable"
    was so obviously laughable.

There are so many things about you that are despicable. Which one was it?

You can't even keep your own lies straight.

No, I'm not. It's not even me that came up with the adjective. A few >>>>>>>>> months back I read your misogynous and demeaning quote to my wife. >>>>>>>>> Quote from her: "What a despicable human being!" Strange that said >>>>>>>>> you think it's humor. Bullshit.

First: it wasn't what you first claimed.

Second: you read it to your wife?

Third: what ordinary person would pick "despicable" to describe >>>>>>>> something so innocuous.

You lie again. The wife said it first. Prove she didn't.
    Sorry, you prove she did.

What we know is that when you first used it HERE, you had a completely >>>>>> lame justification...

...which became what you felt was a better justification...

...which became your wife telling you that.

The point is that she comes at it from a different perspective from you or me. You look at that quote as humorous. If you act out the attitude it expresses you are a tone-deaf chauvinistic pig in the eyes of a lot of women.
The point is that you spun and spun the story, Liarboy.

It wasn't what you first claimed was "despicable".

It was what you grasped for when what you had claimed was "despicable" >>>> was so obviously laughable.

Nice try at dodging the question, but not an artful dodge at all.

I have to answer that question, Liarboy.

Why don't you answer mine from much further up the thread:

What is THE most "despicable" thing you claim I've done?

You claim there are so many, so surely you can think of something better
than "cherrypicking data" or a harmless bit of fun.

What have I done that actually matches the word "despicable", asshole?
