Finally going to mirrorless; wonder if Muahman Brian, Irving, or Nashton are still kicking, to try to tell us that it won’t be Mac-compatible (or something).

Pics after the battery charges overnight.

What kind did you get? I have been wanting mirrorless to.

What kind did you get? I have been wanting mirrorless too.

I’ve had Canon EF lens mount for years, so sticking with Canon.

R6, mk2, plus I added the RF based 24-105L f/4 USM, as that happens to
be a lens I never picked up on the EF side…basically an upgrade to an ancient 28-135 IS that’s getting tired.

I suspect Brian's illicit business may have caught up with him.

    I don't know about Nicolas.

But I'm pretty sure Mr. Patelmo passed away.

(haven't gotten around to it yet)

I suspect Brian's illicit business may have caught up with him.

Decent odds of that. Real shame of it is that this past week, I was thinking of him because he once had a cheap "Beach Bum" surfing trip to Costa Rica,
and I saw a presentation this past week from some of the local dive shop club who had a few days in Costa Rica before their 35+ hour boat ride out to the Cocos Islands, where the scuba diving is with lots of pelagic life, especially of sharks - - hammerheads, whale sharks & even a tiger shark - - which is that particular destination's main attraction.

    I don't know about Nicolas.

Probably still trying to keep his chiropractic business above water up in Newfoundland. Real shame that he'll probably never know what my daily driver's been for the past ~decade. Since I've been starting to what & when to replace it, maybe I'll post what it *was* after I sell/trade it in.

But I'm pretty sure Mr. Patelmo passed away.

It happens to all of us eventually. I wasn't really all that sure if he was in the
NYC metro area and pretended to snowbird to FL, or whatever. Not that it mattered, unless he was interested in the Van Gogh exhibit which is just wrapping up in NYC & was worth a visit:

Well, it was New Brunswick... ...put I'll give you a pass on that detail.

    ;-)

In a weird coincidence, my GF was in New York yesterday going to that
    very exhibit.

Finally got some time to start familiarizing; found the ‘RAW Burst’ mode, which buffers up to 0.5sec *before* shutter release, & then rips at 30 frames/sec,
which is for action shots. So far, I’ve found that ~90 frames is ~1GB file size…and
that while Apple’s “Photos” app does support .CR3 files, it doesn’t support this burst
mode option, so I’m using Canon’s pro software to do the frame extracting:

Female goldfinch who didn’t fly off for the payoff. High shutter & ISO, as per the EXIF.
Kind of blah, due to being post-sunset and shooting from inside the house through
    the window screen.

Probably so. I nevertheless thought of Nicholas as the source of “Newfie” jokes.
