• Email conversations/threads (continued)...

I have strange problem in Apple Mail. When I have a
conversation/thread in my Inbox, and when I move this conversation to a
folder under "On My Mac", Mail will show me the content of only the
first message when I browse the messages.

For example, assume I have Message #1, and four replies (#2, #3, #4,
#5). Mail will correctly highlight these messages as belonging to a conversation. I then move the five messages to a folder under "On My
Mac". I then click on Message #1 and see the correct contents. Then I
click on Message #2 but it shows me the content of Message #1. Same
    for Messages #3 and #4 and #5.

But, if I click on Message #3 first, it will show me the correct
contents of Message #3. If I then click on Message #1, it will show me
    the contents of Message #3.

So, basically, it's whatever message in the conversation I click first.

    Notes:

    - This happens only in a folder under "On My Mac", never in the Inbox.

    - This happens only for some conversations. About 50%. I don't know
why these conversations are different from the other ones.

    - This happens regardless of whether I use the mouse or the arrow
    keys to browse the messages.

    Using Mail 16.0 on macOS Ventura 13.2.1 on a 2023 16" M2 MacBook Pro,
but this also used to happen on macOS High Sierra on a 2010 17" MacBook
Pro. I was hoping the problem would go away when I migrated to the new machine, but no joy.
