• Sonoma 14.0

From Paul Goodman@21:1/5 to All on Tue Sep 26 13:55:44 2023
I just upgraded to Sonoma with no issues. The whole process only took a
little more than a half hour.

I'll update my SO's MBA soon, but this old iMac won't support it.

Hoping Oct presents us with a new Mac...

I'm waiting for an upgraded iMac.

Hey Timmy, I've got the money in my fist. Your turn ;-)

The 3nm process is not getting great yields so far, so I doubt we'll see
M3 Macs this side of XMas ...

Same here. The most powerful machine the mini M2 pro took longest and
the fastest was my i7-MBP with slightly under 35 minutes. My wife's M2
    MBA was in the middle.

The new login-screen is a joke. For me a lot of unnecessary toy-style
changes with no added value. But security is paramount.

Not directly related to sonoma, but I'm happy to have profiles in safari. Now
I don't need to have one browser for work stuff and one for personal.

Just in time too, Chrome was getting a bit too privacy-invading for my liking.

    This.

I always wait until the x.1 release. Sometimes even the x.1.1. Of
anything. I am on 16.7 on this iPad Pro. Don’t need 17 yet.

Although I see it is up to 17.0.2 already. Gee I wonder why?

17.0.2 was a very minor bug relating to data transfer from another
    iPhone during setup.

    Per Apple: <iOS 17.0.2 and iPadOS 17.0.2
This update has no published CVE entries.>

So if you were merely updating your iPhone's iOS, it has no bearing on you.

If you bought a new iPhone and were transferring from an older phone
then this bug might pop up - not clear if the donor or receiving phone
    needed the fix.

Ok, thanks. That's what I get for not just looking to see what 17.0.2
actually patched before I typed my reply. :-)
