Filmele precum cele două Miami Bici pun în dificultate criticii. Sunt fără îndoială filme slabe, care înşiră câteva glumiţe tembele, le repetă şi le reciclează la nesfârşit. Dar sunt, în acelaşi timp, filme la care publicul
ultraescapist din România se duce şi se distrează, prin urmare ce să facă criticul de film? Să rămână fidel propriilor gusturi şi să discute exigent şi autoritar o comedie de consum din al cărei public-ţintă nu face parte? Poate este mai
nimerit să o discute din perspectiva publicului ei...

În urmă cu câţiva ani, scriitorul Mircea Cărtărescu a postat pe Facebook un comentariu apreciativ la adresa Sandrei Brown, ale cărei romane-sirop au invadat piaţa de carte din România în anii '90. Cărtărescu, poate cel mai titrat şi relevant
scriitor român al momentului, spunea în respectiva postare că este foarte greu să oferi un produs care să se bucure de o popularitate atât de largă şi atât de constantă. Într-un interviu din Ziarul Metropolis, Cărtărescu spunea: "Am mult
respect pentru această industrie, nu disprețuiesc literatura de consum, ea are sensul ei, sensul ei economic, sensul ei social, sensul ei chiar politic, foarte clar. O carte de consum este un obiect de consum, tinde să fie la fel de perfectă ca orice
obiect de larg consum."

Exact la fel stau lucrurile cu cele două filme Miami Bici. Sunt un produs de consum şi popularitatea lor nu ar trebui să supere pe nimeni, deşi i-ar putea întrista pe unii, pentru că sunt o oglindă în care se văd clar preocupările, gusturile ş
i simpatiile românilor şi ce îşi doresc ei de fapt să vadă la cinema. Lansat pe 21 februarie 2020, primul film a fost văzut în cinematografe de 545.000 de spectatori în trei săptămâni. Ulterior, pandemia a făcut cinematografele să se î
nchidă, iar din 18 martie întreaga ţară intra în carantină. Este o popularitate care nu i se poate contesta.

Am fost miercuri la Miami Bici 2 şi am râs de câteva ori, dar mult mai puţin decât restul sălii. Ai putea spune că la aceste aşa-zise vizionări de presă (acum sunt mai degrabă vizionări pentru parteneri şi influencer-i) filmul beneficiază
deja de bunăvoinţa publicului: nu doar că spectatorii văd filmul pe gratis, dar ei au investit deja un capital de simpatie prin simplul fapt că sunt mai aproape de echipă decât restul românilor. Chiar şi aşa, sigur şi ceilalţi oameni atraşi
de experienţele americane ale protagoniştilor interpretaţi de Matei Dima şi Codin Maticiuc se vor distra la film

În acelaşi timp, îmi doresc comedii româneşti mai bune, care să nu fie o traducere aproximativă (într-un un gag recurent eroii traduc mot-a-mot în engleză expresii şi înjurături româneşti) a unor comedii populare. Ca şi Teambuilding, a că
rui cea mai bună poantă - aflăm că numele unui personaj abraziv e identic cu cel al unei personalităţi deloc abrazive - este inspirată din Shortbus (2006), Miami Bici 2 este o combinaţie de glume slabe şi glume pe care parcă le-am mai auzit de
