    Great.

Note that without updating sddm, I was greeted with black screen after boot >due to missing qt 6 based greeter,
so I had to dig into sddm logs to narrow it down. Anyone doing the above, >don't miss it.

I yes I've had that too.
I was wondering if/how to set versioned dependencies to ensure it doesn't happen but didn't come up with a good idea. Will try again.

    Thanks!

Thank you also for all who where in involved creating/updating all of
those packages! I appreciate it greatly!

Had to remove layer-shell-qt and kdenlive.

Had to install libkf6configqml6 6.5.0-1 manually from unstable, otherwise
apt would pick the lower 6.4.0-1 version from experimental.

Had to install qml6-module-org-kde-notifications manually from unstable, otherwise apt would pick the lower 6.4.0-1 version of libkf6notifications6 instead of the already installed 6.5.0-1 (probably as a Digikam from experimental dependency).

Then apt was happy. Needed to use aptitude to find out about the above
    issues.

kgamma5 and thus kdegraphics was removed by apt.

task-kde-desktop also was removed by apt which is to be expected.

    Used

    apt install -t experimental plasma-desktop plasma-workspace konsole
    dolphin sddm

now to install. I added in plasma-workspace, cause apt initially at least wanted to remove plasma-workspace package.

Will reboot and report back afterwards. Still using X11 for now. Better
change one thing at a time. Especially as I am not sure whether Firefox
has learned proper fractional scaling with Wayland yet.

Most of my Plasma widgets are gone however.

Weather Widget 2 is not compatible with Plasma 6. But this is a 3rd party applet, so I understand.

Media frame and sticky note are also not compatible with Plasma 6. I also cannot re-add those after deleting them. Hmmm… maybe some widgets package did not get upgraded. Yet:

    apt install -t experimental plasma-widgets-addons

    which pulls in kdeplasma-addons-data plasma-dataengines-addons plasma- runners-addons plasma-wallpapers-addons plasma-widgets-addons.

Okay, this fixes up media frame and sticky note.

Which may also explain why KRunner did not find apps. Nope. That did not fix it.

I now see that KF6 so far was only partly upgraded to 6.5.0-1 from
6.4.0-1. I bet I tried the Plasma 6 update in the middle of the package building process. I reboot once more to see whether some of the issues are fixed after completing updating all of KF6 to 6.5.0-1. Updated some more,
but so far about 12 packages are still only available on my mirror in
    6.4.0-1 versions.

Additional I now see that recordmydesktop and dvgrab got removed.

    Had to manually upgrade:

    apt install -t experimental plasma-workspace-wallpapers kde-config-flatpak

libkf5screen packages are held by LXQt.

libkpipewire5 packages are held by kde-spectacle 23.08.5-2. As far as I
read someone is working on an updated package for Spectacle.

All other 5.27.11 stuff is gone.

This is on Devuan Ceres with elogind, so proof that also with elogind the update appears to work.

Backup desktop LXQt temporarily needs to go.

Otherwise no Powerdevil 6.1.3 from experimental.

This is now fixed. I bet by upgrading from more of KF6 packages to 6.5.0-1. Those 12 packages left still need to go.

Initial start of KMail takes longer, likely due to needing to load in all
the KF5 stuff :). But this will only be temporary.

Was able to install kdenlive recordmydesktop and dvgrab now.

Maybe some crazy interim state prevented upgrading directly with those.

LXQt of course still needs updated packages. Maybe the cleaning up after removing LXQt helped regarding installing all of the above again.

So far I am pretty pleased.

    - KRunner is so much better and faster.
    - Restoring from saved sessions works again.
    - Plasma 6 finally seems to consistently remember my dual monitor setup
    again.
    - Suspend/Standby is faster.
    - In general there is a lot of polish.

I still have an issue with positioning applets, but I am pretty sure this
is an upstream issue. I may look into it in more detail at a later time.

    Dear

Previously most Plasma packages were installed from Experimental. This morning "apt upgrade" showed 247 packages to be upgraded. Now most
were Plasma, but now from Sid!

Thanks for this enormous step and result!!!!!!!!!! [ Due to NVDIA I
    need to stick to X11]

    Sorry but no. :)
This is « just » KDE Frameworks 6 that I uploaded to unstable.
Plasma is still in the works and not there yet.

But that was a lot of work from Patrick and myself already, yes.

It works fine, but you also need qml6-module-qtqml-xmllistmodel for it.

    Thanks. Works great.

Installed the plasmoid via "plasmapkg -i", installed the xml list model package and after "killall plasmashell ; plasmashell" it worked including
the graphical representation of the weather throughout the day. I prefer
it over the standard applet for this graphical representation.

    Thank you! I appreciate it.
