  • libqt6svgwidgets6 and libqt6svg6 - missing icons

    Hi All,

    Upgrading on sid this morning libqt6svgwidgets6 and libqt6svg6 from version 6.7.2-4 to 6.7.2-5 resulted in missing icons in menus, systray etc, downgrading again resolved the issue.

    Huge thanks! I also upgraded and found no icons. However, I didn't know
    which packages were the issue until I saw your message. I peeked at the changelog and guessed an alternate answer: install the new package qt6-svg- plugins.

    I encountered the same issue.

    6.7.2-5 splitted out plugins, which are used by Plasma, into a new
    binary package qt6-svg-plugins. Installing qt6-svg-plugins fixes the
    issue, too.

    Perhaps a later update/binNMU of Plasma stuff will fix the issue - I am
    not sure.

    There seems to be a 3rd option:
    It looks like aptitude does not install new recommends of already
    installed packages. It does list them though, but I guess I wasn't
    paying attention enough.

    Thanks Geoff as your fix brought back (most of) my icons :-)

    I think it's cool that apparently a lot of icons are now SVG :-D

    Hej,

    quick reminder that qt6-base and qt6-svg are migrating to testing.

    qt6-svg-plugins (needed to display icons) should be installed
    automatically if you have recommended packages enabled.
    Should you not or qt6-svg-plugins is missing for some other reason,
    please install it manually.
