So I received this email through my companies website concerning a link I
had on the website of our distro RefreshOS...
"
Please do not send your users to debian support resources. Debian
mailing lists and irc/matrix channels only support debian, not distros
based on debian, and when your users arrive we can only send them
away. This is disrespectful to both your users and the debian
community.
If you are going to have your own free OS it is your responsibility to
help your own users with troubleshooting and setup issues."
First things first, I removed the link!
Second, I never told my users to reach out to debian for RefreshOS support. What I did was provide a link under "additional resources" in case they had
a debian related issue. I made this clear on the website stating:
