• Bug#1096052: gnome-shell-extension-kimpanel: needs update for GNOME She

The Debian GNOME team is intending to include GNOME Shell 48 in
trixie. GNOME Shell 48 Beta is currently available from experimental.

Many packaged GNOME Shell extensions compatible with 47 can be made
compatible with 48 by simply patching the metadata.json file to add
"48" to the list and then bumping the upper GNOME Shell Depends to
    gnome-shell (<< 49~).

Or, it's possible that code changes will be
necessary. Upstream provides a migration guide at <https://gjs.guide/extensions/upgrading/gnome-shell-48.html>.

I'm reporting this at serious severity, because the timing is relatively
tight for this: the intention is to upload GNOME Shell 48~beta or 48~rc
to unstable in less than a month, to finish the GNOME Shell transition
to testing before the Transition Freeze date, 2025-03-15. If extensions
can't be ported in time, then we will need to ask the release team to
    remove them from testing.

    Thanks,
    smcv
