    Using the example provided on https://www.phpinsider.com/php/code/SmartyValidate/, in Apache2 logs:

    PHP Fatal error: Duplicate declaration of static variable $_objects in /usr/share/php/smarty3/SmartyValidate.class.php on line 659

    I patched the file by removing the static keyword before the variable assignment.

    Given the maintenance of this package and the upstream state: abandoned.
    I suggest to RM this package.
