Congrats on becoming a DD, great to have you!

    Thanks :D

I also support your proposal, sounds like the best approach for
maintaining udev rules. I'm also ready to review anything.

I've opened an ITP as Bug #1101136. You can see the source code here: <https://salsa.debian.org/tachi/android-udev-rules>. I'll move the repo
to the appropriate Salsa namespace when ready.

As also mentioned in the ITP, I'd greatly appreciate help regarding the correct set of Conflicts/Breaks/Replaces fields needed.

In related news, there is currently funding for people in the EU
(mostly) to work on freeing the Android ecosystem. https://nlnet.nl/mobifree/ If you're interested, I'm happy to offer
my services as a "coach" for applying.

That's great news! As I use Android myself with a non-stock OS, and try
to keep up with its development (at a really high level), this sounds
really interesting to me. I'll give that page a read. Thanks for letting
    me know!

    Bye.

I reviewed the package, I think you should upload it to unstable ASAP.
We can then work on polishing it.

    Ok, just pushed to NEW!

I've opened an ITP as Bug #1101136. You can see the source code here:
    <https://salsa.debian.org/tachi/android-udev-rules>. I'll move the
repo to the appropriate Salsa namespace when ready.

How about moving it to https://salsa.debian.org/android-tools-team/ ?

Yeah, sounds appropriate. I'll do it after it passes the NEW queue.

As also mentioned in the ITP, I'd greatly appreciate help regarding
the correct set of Conflicts/Breaks/Replaces fields needed.

I'm not so good at them, but they should not be a blocker for
uploading this. This has to get through the NEW queue, so it needs to
    be uploaded like now. ASAP.

To be on the safe side, I've set Conflicts:
android-sdk-platform-tools-common, so that the user cannot break the
system. When it passes NEW, this will need to be changed to a versioned Breaks+Replaces in android-udev-rules' control file, combined with
a Depends: android-udev-rules in the old package.

Or that's what I gathered from
    <https://wiki.debian.org/PackageTransition>.

Hope this passes NEW in time for trixie!

    Bye :)
