• Bug#1103558: hipcc: junk in roc-obj-ls --help output

    From Cordell Bloor@21:1/5 to All on Sat Apr 19 05:10:02 2025
    Package: hipcc
    Version: 5.7.1-5.1
    Severity: minor
    X-Debbugs-Cc: cgmb@slerp.xyz

    Dear Maintainer,

    There are messages from perl Getopt::Std in the roc-obj-ls --help and roc-obj-extract --help output:

    $ roc-obj-ls --help
    /usr/bin/roc-obj-ls version [unknown] calling Getopt::Std::getopts (version 1.14 [paranoid]),
    running under Perl version 5.40.1.

    Usage: roc-obj-ls [-OPTIONS [-MORE_OPTIONS]] [--] [PROGRAM_ARG1 ...]

    The following single-character options are accepted:
    Boolean (without arguments): -v -h -d

    Options may be merged together. -- stops processing of options.
    [Now continuing due to backward compatibility and excessive paranoia.
    See 'perldoc Getopt::Std' about $Getopt::Std::STANDARD_HELP_VERSION.]

    It would be nice to remove these extra messages. They are confusing.

    Sincerely,
    Cory Bloor
