I would like to ask you to close this ITS bug (or I will close it
    myself if you do not).

Its perfectly fine if you close the bug. I noticed that your changelog
in Git does this. Great, this is actually the best way to close the
bug. For the moment this bug serves as a way to document the status of
this package. If you might like to include your insight you wrote below
in some debian/README.source (in your next upload) this might be of
    extra value.

I've picked up from what you did for kbdd package. Your changes
are now reflected and acknowledged in my repository here:

    https://salsa.debian.org/smaslovski/kbdd

I'm really happy you acknowledge the packaging fixes which seems to show
that its successful to pool your insight into the code with some
packaging help the Salvage team intends to provide.

Please note that I've tested the 0.7.1 version of kbdd on my Debian
install and found that it does not work as it should. Namely, in this
version there is a bug with loosing layout group when switching focus
between windows (http://bugs.debian.org/#644661). Long ago, I fixed this
bug in version 0.6-4 with the patch "group-lost-on-focus-change-fix" that
you had to disable when upgrading the pkg source to the last upstream release.

Unfortunately, there had been many changes upstream that made this fix incompatible with the version 0.7.1. When time permits, I will look into porting this patch to the latest version. Meanwhile, trixie will have to be released with the older, but fully functional version of kbdd.

Its perfectly correct that Trixi should be released with what is now
    in testing.

Please also note that at this moment kbdd is effectively abandoned
    upstream: https://github.com/qnikst/kbdd/issues/52 This means that
whoever wants to maintain this package will have to fix bugs himself. Perhaps, you were not prepared for this, as you even did not test
if the newer version of the program worked as expected.

Just to clarify the intention of the package Salvage team: We do by no
means intend to take away packages from maintainers who are actively
caring for their packages. My upload in October last year was a pure
mistake and I'd like to apologize again for this. I'm more than happy
if you care for the package.

    With best regards,

Same here and thank you for creating the repository on Salsa
    Andreas.
