    I don't think this is acceptable during the soft freeze. Please backport

    test removal.

    Since there's a straightforward (even if not ideal) fix upstream and no maintainer activity on this bug that's been open since January, I'm
    going to go ahead and NMU a backport of the upstream change; I'm
    guessing the maintainer will probably prefer that over their package
    being removed from trixie.
