Hi,

this source package dvi2ps-fontdata was picked by the Debian TeX
maintainers team since we also took over dvi2ps in an ITS procedure.
You can find the current status of packaging in Salsa[1].

I confirm the reported problem of broken symlinks and added a Depends as suggested in the bug report. Unfortunately this leads to circular
Depends which should be avoided. I wonder whether we should rather
merge both binary packages dvi2ps-fontdata-ja and dvi2ps-fontdata-three.
They are both quite small (as all the other binaries) and asking for
extra problems due to binary package split is probably not worth the
effort.

Hi,

while is a fix for this problem in Git[1] this leads to circular
dependencies which is definitely unwanted. I wonder whether we should
rather merge all these tiny binary packages into a single one. IMHO,
the split is kind of over-engineering for this simple package.

What do you think?

I'd volunteer to do this merge and add Provides/Replaces for those
packages to enable smooth upgrades.
