    Dear RT,

We released a new stable systemd release, and I'd like to have it in
trixie along several other bug fixes. Given there's a CVE fix, I'd
    also
appreciate a short migration time, if possible.

    [ Reason ]

Several bug fixes, reported both upstream and downstream, are fixed
with this upload of the latest stable release. No new feature/large
changes, just bug fixes are included. A fix for an autopkgtest that
fails with the new iproute2 from unstable is also included.

This includes the fix for the just-un-embargoed CVE-2025-4598.

    [ Impact ]

CVE-2025-4598 and other bugs will remain unfixed without this change

    [ Tests ]

Extensive debci coverage on amd64, moderate debci coverage on other
supported arches, plus running the new code on local trixie machine

    [ Risks ]

Core package, so if it breaks there are going to be fireworks - but
less impact that other allowed changes such as src:linux

    [ Checklist ]
[x] all changes are documented in the d/changelog
[x] I reviewed all changes and I approve them
[x] attach debdiff against the package in testing

    unblock systemd/257.6-1

    Thanks!

Forgot one thing, you most likely know already, but the signed source
packages need to be unblocked at the same time:

    systemd-boot-efi-amd64-signed
    systemd-boot-efi-arm64-signed

Also there is a failing autopkgtest in debvm amd64/arm64, this is
triggered by a bug fix that caused a missing dependency to come to the
surface in a debvm script, I filed a bug and MR with a fix already:
