For the record, dosemu was removed from Debian unstable in 2020, after 3
    years not in testing.
There is dosemu2 but it doesn't look like anybody tried to package that
(it's also unclear to me if it has the same benefits regarding screen
    readers as the original dosemu).

Hi. Would it be possible to get dosemu added to Debian? A lot of
visually impaired people myself included still use dos for various programs and to play the old text based games. Dosemu use to work
with Speakup when I tried it several years ago and made an easy way
to get dos support in Linux. I think it was produced by freedos if I remember correctly so as far as I know it's a free program. Anyway,
just thought I would ask about getting it included.

I took a quick look at the Dosemu website. It hasn't been updated since 2012. I didn't look at the source so I don't know how much effort it
would take to make a Debian package.

There is a Debian package that might already do what you are looking
    for: DOSBox-X (https://dosbox-x.com/).

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks Hank.

    Hello all,

All being readers in mailinglistarchive and other people
that didn't have time to read all previous messages.

I tried dosbox-x a few days ago and while it loads, it doesn't
apear to work with Orca or Speakup. Yeah, I think dosemu-2 was the last version, but I thought it might still work. Anyway, thanks so much for looking at it and for the suggestion. Dosbox would be perfect is it worked with a screen reader.

I'm not a programmer so I don't know how much work this would take.

    And meanwhile you have demonstrated
the lack of understanding discussion order.
So take in extra time for understanding programm flow order.

Thanks and have a great day.

You are welcome. I do love to educate^Wcluebat
    unaware mailinglist posters before breakfast.

Please, pretty please, do reply below previous text.
