• systemrescuecd -- a bit off Debian topics

From Van Snyder@21:1/5 to All on Thu Jun 13 00:20:01 2024
Does anybody know how to contact systemrescuece developers? Their web
page https://www.system-rescue.org/ doesn't have a "contact" or "forum"
    button.

My brother has impaired vision. He uses KDE Plasma because he can make
the tool bar large. But I haven't found a way to make the toolbar large
when I boot systemrescuecd. I think the window manager is xfce. Can the
tool bar be made larger? If not, and you have contact with the
systemrescuecd developers, please aske them to provide a way to make
the toolbar and icons larger, for vision-impaired users.

In XFCE, if you right-click anywhere on the toolbar and go to Panel -> Panel Preferences, you can change the size under "Row Size".. But no, I don't
    know how to contact them.

Maybe I was wrong about systemrescuecd using XFCE. Right click on the
toolbar offers a "properties" selection -- that doesn't include a "row
    size" property.

It does (see the mouse on the desktop? That's XFCE's mascot.), just maybe it uses a different version than I have. I'll boot from it on Saturday to back up, so if you haven't got an answer by then I'll report back.

OK. I just booted off systemrescuecd, and here's what I saw

Mine uses XFCE 4.16. Right click on the taskbar and at the bottom there's a "Panel >" submenu. Go there and the second item is "Panel Preferences". Do that and you get the config dialog for the taskbar, and near the bottom is
"Row size (pixels)". Changes take effect immediately.

But, maybe mine is old and they no longer use (that version of) XFCE, so YMMV.
