    There is a note in the documentation that one should use a USB 2 port
    for these if at all possible. I have been told that they are not
    shielded well enough to live in a USB 3 port.

    I don't know about Amazon, but the one from Technoethical [1] is
    advertised as fully compatible. I didn't try it, but I do use some of
    their other hardware and it works well.
    Their stuff can be expensive, but my experience is that it keeps its
    promises.

    I have one of these:

    Bus 001 Device 025: ID 0a12:0001 Cambridge Silicon Radio, Ltd Bluetooth
    Dongle (HCI mode)


    It has "ZEXMTE" printed on the spine, so I think that's the brand name.
    Anyhow it worked great, until suddenly it didn't. Good thing my headset connects via USB. I don't remember changing anything, but I guess I did. Anyhow YMMV.

    English, something is becoming barely usable when it's very nearly
    unusable. IOW, it's getting progressively worse.

    so my advice for you to avoid any Bluetooth ver4.0
    and lower devices, both adapters and clients.
